#.4 The Temper Trap (2012)

The 2012 revelation is back with a self-titled second album... *oops, I've wet my chair*.

I was waiting for it for a long time, a very long time. I have to say that 'Conditions' is, for me, one of the top-10 best albums of the 21st century. 

THE EMUSCULATED VOICE: GONE.

The thing that completely charmed the first hour fans took off... to transform into a more mature voice. Anyway the magic operates since the first track, 'Need Your Love'.
However, the singer hold us back in time with 'Want' or 'The Trouble With Pain', taking back the first album voice. Dougy Mandagi worked a lot on this and wants people to know about it. Don't worry sweetheart, we got it and we congrat the band, especially for 'London's Burning' that clearly is the record's gold nugget.

THE ELECTRO TOUCH... BAD MOVE.

It wasn't necessary to add it on these tracks. It weighten them and alterate the image of the band that put guitars, drums and the voice ahead. I remember of 'Fader' and 'Down River', I'm kind of disappointed.
The outgoing band unfortunately became a regular one; talentend for sure, but playing safe by trying to follow the trend of the 'versatile electro-indie band'. They do it great, it's a good record but not as good as the first one.

IN BRIEF

I listen to Conditions in my convertible, my hair flowing in the wind and my hand on the steering wheel; The Temper Trap is for my living room, with a glass of Chardonnay between my fingers.
